Rep. Weaver Announces Student Writing Contest

State Representative Travis Weaver (R-Edwards) is announcing a writing contest for students in the 93rd Illinois House District:

State Rep. Travis Weaver’s Student Writing Contest

We invite 1st-12th grade students in the 93rd District to dream big and submit their ideas for our Writing Contest. Students are asked to consider creating a new political party based on their interests or a community need, come up with a party slogan, and identify a party spokesperson. Writing prompts, criteria, and submission guidelines are adjusted for each grade-range.

“Hosting a writing contest focused on government is a great way to get students involved in the legislative and policy process,” said Weaver. “We tailored the prompts to include all grade and age-levels, and each winner will receive a little prize at the end. I can’t wait to read and see what each student comes up with!”

Submissions are due by May 1st, and winners from each grade-range will receive a gift card to a local restaurant.
