Happy #NOFOFriday!
A “NOFO,” or Notice of Funding Opportunity, is a formal notice the State of Illinois issues to announce grant opportunities. Every Friday, I’m going to highlight a new or current grant opportunity being offered by a variety of State agencies. From economic development and tourism to education and emergency management, there are plenty of NOFOs to cover.
My hope is to help individuals and organizations gain a better understanding of funds that could potentially be available to them and to work to bring more funding and resources into the 93rd District.
The first grant we are highlighting is from the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO). The Community Development Block Grant – Economic Development Program is a funding opportunity that is designed to help for-profit and not-for-profit private organizations create and retain jobs, primarily for low to moderate income workers.
Applications are accepted on a year-long basis, and funding comes from the Federal government. The award range is up to $1,000,000, and there are no cost-sharing or matching requirements.
If you, or someone you know has any interest in a particular grant, or if you would like more information on other available grants or the grant process, please do not hesitate to reach out to my office at my website here or call (309) 204-6514.
