Rep. Weaver Honors Kewanee Band, Choir, and FFA Students

Congratulations are in order to some amazing students at Kewanee High School! First, the Kewanee High Band and Choir recently won the IHSA Class A Music Sweepstakes Championship for the second consecutive year! Kewanee finished with a total of 897 points, edging out Sycamore (873) for the state championship.

Also, two Kewanee High School students have been recognized by the Illinois FFA. At the FFA’s recent State Awards Day, Kalleigh Gale was selected as the state FFA proficiency winner in food service entrepreneurship, and Kashen Ellerbrock finished in the top five in the Illinois Association FFA’s sheep production competition. There are more than 42,000 FFA members in Illinois, and only 240 qualify for the State Awards Day.

Congratulations again to these outstanding Kewanee High School students and keep up the great work!
