I would like to welcome my three summer interns – Brooke, Sadie, and Samantha – to my District Offices! All three young ladies have been working hard and learning the ropes on state legislative office responsibilities. I am grateful for their help this summer, and I hope this experience benefits them as they close out their college careers and enter the professional workforce!
Brooke Deebs will be a senior at Bradley University this fall. Brooke has been a key member of the Braves’ women’s golf team for three years, and she is looking forward to her senior season. Brooke interned in my office last summer, writing her own legislative bill in addition to learning the ins and outs of public service. Brooke came to the Peoria area from Texas, and she is a native of Houston. She has assumed even more responsibilities in my office this summer and is doing an outstanding job! Brooke is majoring in Political Science, with a minor in Business.
Sadie Bays will be a senior at Iowa State University this fall. The Princeville native is majoring in Agricultural Studies with emphasis areas in Agronomy, Ag Business, and Business. When she is not working, Sadie loves to spend time outside and hang out with friends. After graduation, Sadie plans to build her professional career while supporting producers in the Agriculture industry.
Samantha Schulte will be graduating from Bradley University in December. She is from Washington and attended Parkland College before transferring to Bradley. Samantha competed on the women’s volleyball team at Parkland. She is majoring in Business Management and Leadership with a minor in Business Analytics. Samantha chose this internship to learn more about public service and to experience legislative work hands-on. She also works at Brienzo’s and likes to read, hang out with family and friends, and walk her dog.
As part of their duties this summer, Brooke, Sadie, and Samantha will be spotlighting local non-profits and businesses in our local communities. We will be featuring these groups and businesses on my website and social media sites over the next couple of months. Thank you again, ladies, and let’s have a great summer!
