EDUCATION TAX CREDIT

Illinois families deserve the best opportunities for their children, and a new federal program makes that easier than ever. The Educational Choice for Children Act offers up to $1,700 in federal tax credits to fund scholarships, tutoring, and educational support for K-12 students in Illinois. All Governor Pritzker has to do is opt in. Please sign the petition at my website. » Tax Credit Scholarship Petition

The funds will be used for infrastructure improvements around the school, including new sidewalks, crosswalks, and ADA compliant curb ramps. A total of $12 million in grants was awarded through this program. More information on the grant program and awards can be found here.
HONORING OUR FALLEN HEROES

This month at the Capitol, we gathered with law enforcement officers, firefighters, and families from across the state to pay tribute to Illinois’ fallen police officers and firefighters. These solemn ceremonies honored the bravery, service, and sacrifice of those who lost their lives in the line of duty. May God bless all of our first responders and their families for the sacrifices they make for us every day.
TAX RATES

Illinoisans continue to pay the highest combined state and local tax rate in the country, according to WalletHub. Residents and job creators will continue to flee our state if we don’t stop overtaxing them. We need to rein in out-of-control spending and tighten our belts. House Republicans are committed to producing policies that bring down costs for Illinois families.
