Thanks to the work of Pekin student Elizabeth Austin, the Illinois State Colors Project came together. This statewide initiative is engaging K-12 students from all across the state to help choose the official state colors of Illinois. Elizabeth’s determination and civic engagement set a great example for everyone and gives me great hope for our future generations.
