Rep. Weaver Announces Launch of 2026 Community Clean-Up Project

Pekin, IL – State Representative Travis Weaver (R-Peoria) is pleased to announce the launch of his 2026 Community Clean-Up Project. The project began this week and continues through Friday, May 22.

Hosted annually by Rep. Weaver, the Community Clean-Up Project is dedicated to promoting environmental awareness by encouraging individuals to collect and properly dispose of litter. Participants are invited to document their efforts by submitting photos of themselves with trash they picked up.

Students must have parent or guardian permission to pick up trash in a location of their choosing. All students who fill a standard kitchen-size trash bag with litter should submit a photo to: [email protected]. Everyone is invited to participate, and students who complete this project and submit a photo will receive a Certificate of Service from Rep. Weaver.

“The 2026 Community Clean-Up Project is a creative and fun initiative to preserve the beauty and well-being of our communities,” said Rep. Weaver. “By working together, we can protect our environment and ensure a cleaner, healthier future for all. I encourage all to participate, including local school groups and classes.”
