Earlier this month, I asked for nominations of women educators who have played a big role in your lives, and the responses we received were heartwarming and nothing short of incredible. Over the next few weeks, I’ll be sharing each nomination on social media and my website to ensure that these outstanding women get recognized for the tremendous impact they’ve made on their students and their peers.
Today’s spotlight goes to Rebecca Baney from Kewanee School District #229. Here’s what her nominator had to say:
“Mrs. Baney has made a major impact on my career in education. She was my freshman English teacher but is now the superintendent of the Kewanee School District. From the time she was my teacher until now, she has inspired me to become a teacher and continue to push through any obstacle that comes my way. I am lucky to be able to teach at Kewanee School District with such a great leader. She is a wonderful role model and example for women in education!”
Thank you so much, Superintendent Baney, for your leadership and service to Kewanee #229 and the community!
