Springfield, IL – House Minority Leader Tony McCombie has appointed State Representative Travis Weaver (R-Edwards) to the Commission on Government Forecasting and Accountability, a key, bipartisan legislative budget commission, for the 104th General Assembly. The CGFA is made up of 12 members, including six Republicans and six Democrats split equally between the House and Senate.

Weaver stated. “The CGFA provides objective, and nonpartisan information to the General Assembly and works on behalf of all Illinois residents in an unbiased fashion. It plays an essential role in Illinois state government, and I’m very grateful that the Leader has entrusted me with this opportunity.”
The Commission on Government Forecasting and Accountability issues reports to the General Assembly on economic trends related to budgeting and the state’s fiscal condition to help determine proper fiscal policies for the state. The CGFA’s reporting to the GA includes Revenue Estimate and Economic Outlook, Legislative Capital Plan Analysis, Liabilities of the State Employees Group Insurance Program, and the annual Budget Summary. The Commission also issues an annual report on the Financial Condition of the Illinois Pension Systems.
Leader McCombie also appointed Representatives C.D. Davidsmeyer (R-Murrayville) and Joe Sosnowski (R-Rockford) to CGFA for the 104th General Assembly. Rep. Davidsmeyer serves as a Co-Chairman.
