This week’s Intern Spotlight is Pekin Community High School senior Alina Vang. Alina is planning to study international business law in the future, and she is interested in public policy and the inner workings of local governments. This sparked her passion and interest in this internship.
Alina hopes to learn more about how politics can garner community support and outreach. Outside of the internship, Alina holds a multitude of positions in school extracurriculars such as the Speech Team, Key Club, Student Council, and Girl Up.
Outside of school, Alina has an ongoing research project on Asian American History, volunteers at the El Paso Voting Rights Museum, holds a position on the YWCA Women’s Board, conducts English tutoring for immigrants, and works at the Pekin Public Library.
