Pekin, IL – State Representative Travis Weaver (R-Edwards) has achieved a perfect 100 percent voting record from the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) for the 2023-24 legislative session periods.
The 2023-24 NFIB Voting Record is based on eight key votes in both chambers of the Illinois General Assembly on issues impacting small businesses. Only 35 members of the General Assembly, including 30 House members and five Senate members, achieved a 100 percent voting record. 35 Illinois Legislators Achieve a 100% Voting Record from NFIB
“I am honored to have achieved a 100 percent voting record from NFIB,” Rep. Weaver stated. “Small businesses are the lifeblood of our communities, and I will continue to support and fight for them on issues critically important to their well-being and survival.”
NFIB’s voting record provides an evaluation of a legislator’s attitude toward small businesses based on floor votes. The eight key bills used by NFIB during the 2023-24 legislative session periods included HB 3129, HB 2862, HB 219, HB 2845, SB 2907, SB 3649, SB 3310, and HB 3763. A ‘no’ vote on all of those bills, except SB 2907, supported the NFIB position.
Rep. Weaver was the Chief House Sponsor of SB 2907, and this legislation included the Workforce Development Report. This requires the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity to compile a one-time report of all state-funded job training and workforce development programs in Illinois to better identify existing resources devoted to closing the workforce skills gap.
