This year’s state budget, which was passed by Democrats in the middle of the night early Wednesday, includes billions of dollars in new programs, yet we still have billions of dollars in maintenance backlogs that we’re not addressing.
Illinois isn’t struggling because we tax too little, we’re struggling because we spend too much. It’s time we start respecting our citizens, honoring the work they do, and being more responsible with how we spend their money.
