Last week on the House Floor, as part of Women’s History Month, I rose to honor the achievements of Lydia Moss Bradley. She established the Bradley Polytechnic Institute in 1896, with the goal to teach both men and women together, combining practical and classical education. Now known as Bradley University, the institution serves as a pillar in the Greater Peoria Area. As an adjunct professor at Bradley, I am so proud of the legacy left by Lydia Moss Bradley that continues to serve the young men and women who walk her halls today in seeking a brighter future.
