Presidents Day is a holiday meant to honor the Presidents who have led our great nation and to remember the values on which our country was founded.
A few Presidents that came to my mind today were Presidents Andrew Johnson and Ulysses S. Grant. Johnson, the 17th President, and Grant, the 18th President, took the helm of a divided nation after the Civil War, rebuilding a post-war United States after the bloodiest conflict our nation has ever experienced.
Just like Johnson and Grant, we all have a duty and responsibility to repair the fabric of our nation during times of great division. We’re eternally blessed to have the opportunity to grow up in the greatest country the world has ever seen, and, as Mark 3:25 teaches us, “If a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand.”
Happy Presidents Day, and God bless!
