Thank you to everyone at Carle Health for hosting me and several of my Central Illinois House and Senate colleagues for a legislative breakfast last week at Methodist Hospital in Peoria.
We listened to a great presentation on several challenges facing patients and the hospital, such as staffing shortages, the rising number of incidents of workplace violence faced by healthcare workers, and the need for more support for mental and behavioral health services.
We also discussed several initiatives being undertaken by Carle Health, such as their partnership with Methodist College, as well as their ever-expanding fleet of Mobile Health Clinics.
These patients, doctors, and nurses need our support more than ever, and I’m excited to do whatever I can to support them in their mission to serve Central and Southern Illinois.
