The 93rd District is home to many historic sites, towns, landmarks, and buildings, and, over the last several months, my staff and I have been working with one of these sites to provide support in their mission to repair and restore their historic buildings.
Bishop Hill, IL, a village in Henry County, is home to the Bishop Hill State Historic Site. This site includes a beautiful array of historic buildings, memorials, a park, and a gazebo, and they need support to ensure these buildings stay in good condition for future generations to enjoy and learn from.
While we are still working with different folks from various government agencies and organizations, one way you can help is by nominating Bishop Hill to be designated as a Most Endangered Historic Place in Illinois by Landmarks Illinois. If chosen, Landmarks Illinois would then work with advocacy groups, residents, and state and local officials to keep resources flowing to support the preservation of Bishop Hill and making sure they receive the assistance they need to keep the museum active.
Feel free to nominate by clicking on the link below. And, if there are any other historic sites around the 93rd District you want to nominate, you can do that too!
