Giving Tuesday is a global movement that inspires people to do good. Today is a reminder that we can all be generous in our communities and one small act can make a big difference. On Giving Tuesday this year, I would like to recognize Impact Central Illinois, a nonprofit women’s collective giving organization.
Impact Central Illinois helps women achieve their full philanthropic capacity, and its diverse membership includes women of all ages and perspectives. The organization combines annual donations from members and gives large grants each year to local worthy causes. In four years, Impact Central Illinois has awarded over $900,000 to local nonprofit organizations. The organization’s goal is to empower women and make an extraordinary impact in our central Illinois communities.
I am especially proud of the work Impact Central Illinois has done. My mom, Laurie Weaver, co-founded the organization and currently serves as President. I am inspired every single day by her commitment to helping people in our local communities.
