Today is National Substitute Educators Day, and I would like to recognize all of our substitute teachers for their dedication to our children. Substitute teachers play a critical role in ensuring students are able to continuously learn in the classroom, but many do not receive the recognition they deserve.
I served as a substitute teacher during the Covid sub shortage. I know first-hand how difficult, but also how rewarding, the job can be. Education is one of my top legislative priorities and will always remain at the forefront of my work in Springfield.
