High School Students Learning About Manufacturing Careers October 6
Nearly 50 high school students will learn about careers in manufacturing this Friday, October 6 at Black Hawk College’s Manufacturing Day.
The day will include a tour of Martin Engineering in Neponset followed by interactive sessions at the Black Hawk College Welding & Skilled Trades Center (WSTC), 520 E. Third St., Kewanee.
The interactive sessions will be from 11 A.M. to NOON at the WSTC.
Students from Annawan, Galva and Kewanee high schools will get introduced to virtual welders, meet with reps from six local manufacturers, and learn about the IGNITE advanced manufacturing program.
Lunch will be provided by State Rep. Travis Weaver, and Rep. Weaver will be attending Manufacturing Day.
