Remembering Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” Speech

60 years ago today, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. delivered one of the most important and influential speeches in our nation’s history. My favorite line is, ‘I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.’

Isn’t that every parent’s dream, for their kids to have a fair shot at life and to be judged by their character? The promise of America has always been a march towards a more perfect union. While the march must continue, it is so important to take days like today to remember how far we have come.
