FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: State Rep. Travis Weaver Appointed to House Public Utilities Committee

Springfield, IL – State Representative Travis Weaver (IL-93) was recently appointed to the Public Utilities Committee by House Minority Leader Tony McCombie (IL-89). Chaired by Rep. Larry Walsh (IL-86), the Committee focuses on legislation that revolves around Illinois’ public utilities, including water, sewer, and electricity. Since these entities are sometimes the only provider in their service area, they are more heavily regulated than other types of businesses.

“I’m honored to have been chosen by Leader McCombie to serve on this important committee,” said Weaver.  “From nuclear and renewable energy to water service and utility bill collection, this committee plays a huge role in the day-to-day lives of Illinoisans all across the state. I’m excited for the opportunity, and I can’t wait to get to work!”
