State Rep. Travis Weaver Responds to “ComEd Four” Verdict, Calls for Ethics Reform in Illinois

Pekin…State Rep. Travis Weaver (R-Edwards) issued a statement following the verdict in the ‘ComEd Four’ corruption trial:

“The recent “ComEd Four” trial and conviction has given us a tiny glimpse into former Speaker Michael Madigan’s corrupt and relentless grip on power in this state. For too long, Illinois Democrats have failed to hold themselves accountable, and we owe it to the taxpayers to pass, implement, and enforce effective and comprehensive anti-corruption reform in Illinois.”

The “ComEd Four” trial, which recently came to a close, focused on four Commonwealth Edison (ComEd) lobbyists who were accused of bribing former Speaker Michael Madigan. Jurors found all four guilty, and more information can be found here.
